iPad Envy

Thursday evening, footnoteMaven was flaunting her tech toys: Droid phone, iPod video camera, and her iPad – I want one of those! I really, really want one!

Steve has one too. So does Dick. I want one... (photo courtesy of Cheryl Palmer)

I spent half an hour writing a query for Dick's GenQueries project in the hopes that I might win the iPad he was giving away. But alas, that didn't happen. Looks like I'll have to go out and buy one.

I want one, too. But so far, I can't get approval from the purchasing department (Hubs). I did manage to score an iPhone earlier this year, so I guess I can't complain too much. :-)

I am surprised you haven't bought one yet! lol

Becky, if you get one, I want to hear how it does "out on the road". I have envy, and am really tired of cleaning the drool off my keyboard. BUT, several things concern me, one of which is having to pay another $40 or more a month for the online service and the fact that the carrier is AT&T. Friend of mine with her iPhone had trouble staying online in PA?? If I cannot stay connected just about everywhere, it just does not work for me, cause one of the things I really want is the real time mapping, etc. so I can use in the truck when we are hauling Tana around.

So, I anxiously await your feedback on this, say when are you getting it???? LOL

Becky,

Sorry you didn't win. I'll be looking forward to hearing the whoop when you give in to iPad envy!

Carol, if I'm not mistaken, the current iPad works via WiFi only and has no telephone service. Can one of you iPad gurus chime in?

I have iPad envy too Becky! I've been wishin' and a hopin' for one since the day they came out. Unfortunately I don't see myself getting one until perhaps my birthday (Nov) or Christmas... and then only if I'm a good girl ;-)

The ability to comment has been turned off for all blog posts effective 21 May 2018. Kinexxions has been inactive for more than two years and most comments have come to me directly via email from readers but more than a few were simply spam. My desire is to keep the blog available to the public since there is value in what has been published, particularly posts dealing with family history.

I am still extremely interested in hearing from readers who might be related and have questions or simply want contact with a distant cousin. Please contact me directly via email at kinexxions@gmail.com

This action is also being taken partially due to the General Data Protection Regulation aka "GDPR" going into effect on 25 May 2018. Even though it is a regulation implemented by the European Union that primarily affects businesses and corporations, it governs how data about people can be used. That includes comments left on blog posts, thus the ability to comment is no longer available.
